They also have significant differences. Authoritarianism can be left-wing or
right-wing.

Nice try, but no. There was no attack on the government after the election in
2016. There was no refusal to concede. There was no threat of remaining in
power despite having been defeated. And there was no widespread support for
any of that, either. 2020 was a turning point, a whole new animal.

And I suppose you've heard about the attack on Pelosi's husband by now.
