Those security features existed along parts of the border prior to the building of the wall, btw. As for the cost, the cost of the wall is ridiculously high at tens of millions of dollars per mile. If migrants come here, get jobs, and pay taxes, we're probably better off than we would be without spending billions on a wall. I know that the conservative perception is that they all come here to get free stuff, but most get jobs.
