Late show hosts think they are news.  I will have to give them to you.
Their jokes are only funny to their target audience.  After Biden became
President, Cobert tried to float a few Biden jokes in a promo to his show
and they were just as horrible as his Trump jokes.  Difference being that
they also likely alienated his previous target audience so I am at a loss
to who would watch him.

Meanwhile, Comedy Central launched a new nightly show, with Cobert's
backing, that suddenly disappeared when the host interviewed Kamala and
didn't softball her.  They recently relaunched it as a short, once-a-week
show.

If Trump were to ever leave the limelight, I am not sure how any of them
would stay on the air.
