You missed the point that the 
"Land of the Free" does not mean that everything is free.

That is way with Philanthropy, there is nothing mysterious about that. 
The Democratic Party's interest in these poor and downtrodden hordes of
illegals violating U.S. sovereignty has nothing to do with philanthropy. 
Indeed, they are nothing more then pawns and are expected to be tomorrow's
Democrats. 
I wonder if the Democratic Party will be continuing their supportive nature 
in the future, now that a large number of Hispanics are turning away from what
they see as Democratic lies.
