It's not a big stretch; when you catch someone lying, it destroys their
reputation. When broadcast tv gets interrupted for an important word from the
white house, and it turns out to be BS, and after there's been no correction
and/or update, you'd have to be pretty damn brainwashed to kneel down for
another load of it.
