Wonder no longer.  Nvidia may indeed be the issue.   I just installed Apoint on 
my Win7/32 with Nvidia card:

BTW.. Nvidia card was a problem with many of the linux flavours that I tried on 
the now Win7/32 machine.  A Xfce desktop version worked the best with little no 
tweaks.  But Manjaro worked right out of the box.

Meanwhile, as you can see, I rather like the aero theme in the Win7/32 box.
