Does a copy/paste method work from a chart or list in from of you work in  
Linux?

Sometimes, when I wouldn't get my pc to cooperate with Alt-codes in even  
the higher ranges (for the Latvian chars for example),  I'd just copy from  
an exiting view somewhere and paste it where I needed that char.
