They don't seem to be working as short-codes/substitutions as the file  
suggests.

Maybe they *are* just shorthand text for general use?

But it would be very nice for example to just put >s+< in the body of the  
text have it autofill into:

The first two paragraphs in the glossary.cfg file intrigue me, they seem  
to imply that we can control the visibility of text with the ">" and "<"  
chars.  That is, create an auto-snip for large parts of text.
