Here's what he had to say:

time an error occurs."

You've already stated that those two options are disabled, so that  
makes his comments about those two options irrelevant. However, it's  
what he *didn't* say that's relevant; he didn't say that this was a  
bug.

Under what circumstances is the PC speaker beeping at you?
