Here's the thing. The F1 context-sensitive help is great and handy.. but it has this in this order: S Asks for a word or phrase... Continues the search if in search mode. Searches for next URL if not in search mode. ....so it would look like is *only* a continuation of the S function. I "get it" now. behaves 2 different ways depending on whether the editor *is* in search mode, or *not* in search mode. But the way it is written above it looks like has to work with S. I would write it as: Searches for [1] user defined text *or* [2] an URL. [1] If in search mode, searches for specific text. [2] If not in search mode, searches for an URL. OR.. Continues the search if in search mode. OR.. Searches for next URL if not in search mode. > You should press *first* which will "select" the first URL in > the message. Then press "C" and you should see a message pop up > something to the effect that the URL has been copied to the > clipboard. If there's more than one URL in the message, pressing > again will "select" the next URL and so on and so forth. Tried it. Works well. > You may need to change the colours of the "selection bar" to suit > your taste and you do that by going to > "Config/Display/Colors/Reader/Selection bar" and finding a colour > combination that suits you. I have mine set to Dark Blue text on a > Grey background. The default is pretty good. > MF>> Pressing on a highlighted URL loads the URL into your default > MF>> browser. If there's more than one URL in the message, you can > MF>> your way to whichever URL you want. Browser loads, albiet the default "explorer" loads the horrid MS IE. But easy to change. Thanks. > AA> If I could actually see someone do the steps, then I would be > AA> convinced that it works. > Hang on, I'll hop on a plane to Canada :-))) Good sport! I like your spirit. I had a business trip to New York, Long Island many years ago. The plan was to be there for several days + a weekend. I was there only 4 hours after arrival, when I got a call from the head office that they needed me back on the next flight, same day, for a project matter to be ready for Monday. I *did* get 1st class limo treatment from the host company that felt sorry me, and I got to fly back in 1st class (primarily because there was no other choice). But, I digress.. ..../|ug --- Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 (Windows/20100228) * Origin: - nntp://rbb.fidonet.fi - Lake Ylo - Finland - (2:221/360) .
