If you don't mind me saying, CDP doesn't work like that, it indicates that  
a Node is running a system which automatically allocates Point numbers to  
prospective Points and automatically sets them up on the Node's system. It  
does nothing for the Points' software, Points still have to configure  
their own software manually. However .....

...... I know of one Point programme which autmatically configures BinkD,  
hpt, htick, GoldED and a few other bits 'n bobs based on data provided by  
the Point during the setup. It also *optionally* supports the Point part  
of CDP and is called Fido Packet Deluxe. It's very old but it works well  
even on Win10(64-Bit). If it's of interest, you can grab a copy from here:
