Could you please explain why all these personal details are necessary? Why do
you need people's home addresses?

I am saddened that so many BBS networks require real names, and privacy is
a concept that nobody values any more.

I would like to join a few of these networks (and others), but refuse to do
so because of the real name policies. And when I see things like this where
you want to know everything except our blood type, then I am not inspired to
join.

If real names are being forced, then people will surely just use Facebook.
However, if we want to attract people to the BBSes, then we should consider
being less invasive of their privacy.
