Subj : MetroNet To : All From : T.J. Mcmillen Date : Sat Feb 06 2021 23:08:45 Dear Interested SysOp, MetroNet began in 1994 with as little as 3 bulletin boards in South-West Pennsylvania and quickly expanded to well over 63 boards through-out Pennsylvania and a few western states. Slowly but surely the InterNet reared it's ugly head into town and the users were no longer interested in "lowly bbs's" but all the "pretty pictures" of the InterNet. The BBS's tried to put up a fight, but couldn't stand up to it. BBS's began shutting down, along with that, dropping out of our network and taking their users (what was left) with them. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, please fill out the METROAPP.XXX application (or run METROAPP.EXE) and netmail or email it back to me. (Replacing the XXX with your initials please) We are always looking for people who want to hub/host mail for BBS's that are still alive in their particular area. Mail can be transfered by standard telnet sessions with mailer to mailer or by other such mailers as Internet Rex, or any other newer style fidonet style mailer. Mail will mostly be transferred via BinkP on port 24554. If you feel you can help out, or interested, please by all means join our network and help us rebuild it better than before. Thanks in advance, T.J. McMillen MetroNet ZEC 25:25/0 You can grab the latest application pack from the address below or from the website. http://www.rgbbs.info ....
