The rules provide for exceptions but these should benefit the network as a whole. In the past we had (echo)mail distributers that were behind a PABX so that they could only call out. The telephone costs were covered by sponsoring. *1) Such a situation could justify a Pvt node. Nowadays with FOTI, cost is no longer an issue, so there is no justification for such Pvt nodes. Sysops that want to run their systems in client mode only should run their systems as a point. *1) Sometimes without the sponsor knwowing it but that is another story...
