DS> I don't really understand why ISDN is now a bar in the eye. It's not directly about ISDN! It's about if nodes still exist, and are participating in the network. The likelyhood that an ISDN only node still exists is becoming more and more questionable. If nobody can connect to it, and the sysop can't be contacted to clarify this, they should be removed from the nodelist, just as any other node where this applies, ISDN only or not. But if there are regular connects with the ISDN only node, by all means keep it in the nodelist. But there seems to lie the problem. Nobody in R24 knows the status of the ISDN only nodes, and there are no connects any more... And isn't Fido himself on his way to being considered a DS> dinosaur? IPv4 vs IPv6 is a bad example. For most of the nodes in the nodelist that "only" list a host name you can't even tell if they support either. If a node can be connected to with the information that is listed in the nodelist, it doesn't matter if it uses IPv4 or IPv6 underneath. So as long as IPv4 still exists as a viable protocol on "the internet", there is no problem with IPv4 only nodes. And I don't think the current sysops in fidonet will live long enough to see the day without IPv4! ;) DS> I think we should end this discussion here, otherwise it will end in DS> depression :-) It's not a discussion, it's a finding/establishing of facts.
