Don't forget, that *some* of us still support dial-up into the system, albeit now most (like mine) are via a VOIP to dial-tone adapter like my MagicJack. Provides an at least acceptable 14.4 to a rare 28.8 connect over my USRobotics Courier. I had a full-blown copper pair into the apartment until a few years back when the phone company raised their price to an exorbitant $55+/month plus taxes. Nonsense; not worth it for 1 or 2 connects per day. Now with the VOIP system it's like $35/year. I can live with that!
