They are AKAs of 2:25/0. If a prospective sysop configures one of these in his mailer and connects to 2:25/0 to apply for a node number, interesting thing may happen.

Maybe the sysop told the NC he would be on-line with the new host name. The NC made the changes and checked for a connction. There was no connection, so the Down remained in place...
