Theoretically this is not necessary if the application has been implemented
according to "Happy Eyeballs"[1] which is related to RFC-4213[2]. Then IPv4 and IPv6 are requested at the same time and if IPv6 does not give an answer the fallback to IPv4 is done. Otherwise the traffic is primarily exchanged via IPv6 which is in the sense of promoting IPv6 traffic.
