And that is why it did not work. I posted another message giving you
instructions on how to fix this issue

_NEVER_ use sudo _ALWAYS_ use su to change to root account when doing stuff
on MBSE BBS. It will give you problems any other way

Quickstart (type exactly what I type)

cd mbsebbs-code 
sudo su -
<root password>
sh SETUP.sh
exit

The rest of the instructions are the same
