You'll need to find a compatable driver and most likely configure the settings yourself. Ubuntu gave me a hard time with my wifi card some years ago. Computers don't come with modems anymore. You might have to use a Windows driver. There's special software for Ubuntu that you can run to install windows drivers. Again.. search the Ubuntu support boards. Good luck.
