Subj : A Brand New Look! To : Alan Ianson From : Maurice Kinal Date : Tue May 22 2018 08:55:32 Hallo Alan! AI> I personaly don't use any characters that are not easily AI> accessible on my keyboard. In other words you favour my reply to "MSGID: 1:229/275 6f74f81b" - for the record "2:280/464.113 5b03a588" - which is the pure ascii version with the minus sign character '-' replacing the 0xc4 character which in both cp437 and cp850 is the line drawing charater resembling the minus sign. To render it in a cp850 terminal simply hold down the left Alt key while typing 1 then 9 then 6 on the number keypad (Num Lock off of course) and release the left Alt key. Lo and behold you should see the line drawing character in question if indeed your terminal is crippled by enabling an IBM codepage. Other goofy 8 bit codepages will vary of course but most, if not all, of the CPXXX ones will produce the line drawing character resembling the minus sign. Clear as mud?
