I can confirm that was what was stated.  However looking at what little real 
information is provided by the steam people that comment seems somewhat 
questionable given that a 64 bit cpu is considered a must by those claiming to 
be in the know of all things steam.  I think some of the games require 32-bit 
libs to satisfy their limitations and not steam itself.

Anyhow that is my take on the flimsy amount of meaningful information I could 
gather in my searches about it.
