"Linux is unix when you add on a lot of 'GNU is not unix' tools." If i add 'not unix' tools how can make that anything unix? ;-) jf> Best way to learn and understand your tool set? Learning with man and info pages only is the very hard way because of the missing information to understand the context. The man pages explain how to use a switch or parameter but they do not explain why or when this parameter is needed. E.g. if you don't know about tcp/ip concepts then you don't understand how to set a netmask or how to configure a firewall. I need to understand those concepts and i do refer to other sources to learn the missing knowledge. Regards Kai --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.4.7 * Origin: Monobox (2:240/77) .
