The problem is not that there is something wrong with literal IP addresses or host names in the nodelist, the problem is that your mailer software does not follow the nodelist. If it would extract the information from the nodelist - just like the binkp.net keeper does btw - instead of extracting the info from a hard coded configuration file, there would be no problem.
