I can't just send it back because when they send you a new modem they deactivate the old modem after the new modem has been registered and became on-line. I have to make some arrangements to get the old modem reinstalled... A tunnel is not an option either because the modem/routers provided by the ISP do not have the option to run tunnels. There is an option to have teir modem/router set in bridge mode and run your own router. But I do not have a suitable router at hand. And if I had one, I would not need a tunnel, I could run native IPv6. Since a couple of month there is also the option of having one's own cable modem. But at the moment I am not all that eager to invest in either a modem or a router of my own as there is a company installing FTTH here, so I may part with the cable company in the not too distant future...
