   Been there, done that, have two days of repair job on my computers to prove it. Nah, SP3 added so much shit that I immediately reverted back to SP2.

   Unfortunately that's neither something that XP can do.

   What a pity. MS managed to almost perfect XP and then they dumped it. Still some 45% of all the computers in the world are running XP -- but of course it does not give MS any money any longer... :(
