The address starting with fe80 is the so called link local address. It is only valid on the local link, so no use for fidonet, but notable is that the lower 64 bits of that address are the same as those of the address starting with 2602. The reason they are the same is that those lower 64 bits are derived from the MAC address of the interface. The 2601:: address is a so called SLAAC (Stateless address autoconfiguration) address. This is the one that should be used to connect to your system from outside. You have that configured correctly in your host name bbs.quinnnet.org. D:\FIDO\BINKD>ping bbs.quinnnet.org Ping bbs.quinnnet.org [2602:306:bd31:aa50:e23f:49ff:fead:fa9] mit 32 Bytes Daten: Zeitberschreitung der Anforderung. Zeitberschreitung der Anforderung. Also, I get no binkp connect on that address. + 12:02 [3424] call to 1:214/22@fidonet 12:02 [3424] trying bbs.quinnnet.org [2602:306:bd31:aa50:e23f:49ff:fead:fa9]... ? 12:02 [3424] connection to 1:214/22@fidonet failed: {W32 API error 10060} Connection timed out 12:02 [3424] trying bbs.quinnnet.org [104.49.12.129]:24554... 12:02 [3424] connected + 12:02 [3424] outgoing session with bbs.quinnnet.org:24554 [104.49.12.129] - 12:02 [3424] OPT CRAM-MD5-70dda613b64c404d1f2cd6c8b5bb79ee + 12:02 [3424] Remote requests MD mode - 12:02 [3424] SYS US 99 BBS - 12:02 [3424] ZYZ Ray Quinn - 12:02 [3424] LOC Visalia, CA USA - 12:02 [3424] NDL 115200,TCP,BINKP - 12:02 [3424] TIME Fri, 2 Sep 2016 03:02:31 -0700 - 12:02 [3424] VER binkd/1.1a-94/Linux binkp/1.1 + 12:02 [3424] addr: 1:214/22@fidonet I may have asked this before, but is your binkd version IPv6 capable? You can check by typing "binkd -vv" at the command line. If IPv6 is included, you most likely have a firewall problem. Just like you have to configure port forwarding in yopur router for poer 24554 for IPv4, you have to tell the firewall in your router to pass port 24554 for IPv6. And also the port for your BBS. I can't help you with that as I do not know what router you have. Also, if you have a firewall on your BBS system, you must open the ports for IPv6 there. RQ> In the IP Utilities page, I can successbully ping using IPv6 to the RQ> bbs.quinnnet.org within the LAN. But it does not ping from here. So the firewall in your router blocks ping.
