Subj : Giving out too generous IPv6 addresses To : Markus Reschke From : Bj”rn Felten Date : Sun Aug 14 2016 16:59:28 AL>> Comcast, at least in my area, does a /56 for business customers, and AL>> a /64 for residential customers. MR> Cheapskates :) Or The History Repeats itself. Didn't "they" award some major US companies and such an entire IPv4 /16 address range back then, or do I remember incorrectly? Now, a /56 IPv6 range is far from enough to give every citizen on this planet it's individual IPv6 range. And a /64 range can only cover half of the Earth's population. So something like a /96 individually and a /80 to each of the providers would probably be more realistic, no? ... --- Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; sv-SE; rv:1.9.1.16) Gecko/20101125 * Origin: news://eljaco.se (2:203/2) .
