I'm on a 1Gbit link since a few weeks ago and the Netgear can cram out up to
980Mbit in speedtests, not tried to push it much in terms of concurrency yet
but I assume the performance will go down at that point. Still, dropping to
the 3d-party firmware is not an option.

Yea, it's kind of a waste to run it in AP-mode but I already have it so it's
no loss. Better than getting a new AP also. The main point is to get IPv6
going both ways and if Netgear can't fix their shit I might as well get a
EdgeRouter. They are only like 100$ I think, if that.
