No, that's reverse DNS, which is a separate (PTR) record for your IP address,
that translates an IP address into a hostname.  Normally, your ISP will manage
that record.  Again, perfectly normal.  This wouldn't have changed since it was
originally setup, so doesn't explain the delay you were talking about.
