How do you like your new toy? I did not worry very much about the difficulty of flashing back to the original firmware. The linksys wrt54gl is now over ten years old and they are available for a few Euro on e-bay and flea markets. I figured if I'd brick it, I could easily replace it. So far it has been running to satisfaction with IPv6 OpenWrt and I see no need to upgrade the firmware. If/when my provider starts offering native IPv6, I will reconsider my options.
