Mine is a v1.0 and it still says 5Ghz is not supported and likely never will be
because the chip or something is not supported in the open source software they
use.

Yes, I have downloaded, the latest.  Reading through all that stuff, I am
thoroughly confused on how to install it though.  This method might work or
this other method may be necessary, and here is how you debrick it.  I dont
know if I can use the update part of the factory software to install this or
not.  What do they mean that I might need other add-ons?
