   Yes I say it's outdated. At least in Sweden they are in the same situation vs. fibre as ADSL was vs. POTS modems just ten years ago.

   Our government has set up a goal that by 2020 90% of all Swedish households shall have access to at least 100/100M internet connection. That usually means fibre -- but 4G is coming fast and 5G is already in action here.

   In 2014, 54% of all Swedish households were connected via fibre. 99,4% had access to LTE (4G).

   So, not many are forced to use ADSL here any more... 8-)
