Comcast is pushing hard to get everyone to use their wireless gateways for their Triple Play packages. These gateways have built in routers, which provide very limited options for port forwarding, etc. It can take 2-3 tech support people before you will find one that will put their device into bridge mode for you. After the device went brain dead and refused to respond to DHCP requests 3 times in 12 days, I removed it and exchanged it for a modem/EMTA that has worked flawlessly ever since.
