Hello All!

Sorry forgot to do a post for this topic :

As you all now know Janis Kracht at 1:261/38 has shut down her systems and
servers as of 31st Dec 2021.

As of last month some of the existing filegate Hubs have formed a star system
between ourselves to pass forwards echo traffic between us and for our
downlinks and this should ensure that all connected system gets most if not 
all
echo area's but there might well be the odd few that I and any of the others
are not connected to - - so to that end if any of you are a main source for
some echo areas please get in touch regarding the areas as well as connect 
info
and I can set up up for a link if not already dealt with.

Regarding Filegate that is also now flowing at least as far as it was under
Janis's acting as the master Filegate  Hub and this I have now taken on so
again if you act as a distributor for any areas that is not connected to my
system or that of the other primary hub namely 1:3634/12 (Mark Lewis) please
get in touch to sort out re-linking into for these areas.

Saying this yes, I appreciate that some areas have now very light traffic if
any but that might because of no connections / links.

Between myself and the other main filegate hubs we are moving files for the
areas with have re-established links with but there are still holes.


Again if you are one of the file distributors etc, get in touch so we can get
the system fully operational again.

A netmail to Vincent Coen at 2:250/1 should get it started with session,
areafix and filemgr password with a list of the areas you can help with and 
the
procedures you had with Janis, and that includes any new File Distribution
Networks as well as the one's already originally setup with Janis at 1:261/38.


I will be publishing a update to FILEGATE.ZXX at the end of the month and
monthly there after along with the other files needed creating a archive that
will be named FGATEZXX.ZIP that contains :

FILEGATE.ZXX        Current list of active file areas
inactive-files.txt  Non active area lists
INACTIVE-FILES.TXT    -  -   Ditto - -
     The inactive-files.txt is a extract from FILEGATE.ZXX with the areas not
     currently classed as active which Could just mean the link is broken
      between the FDN and the Filegate servicee.

The other archives that gets sent out monthly or if a change are :

FGATEHDR.ZIP       Current FILEGATE.HDR  - used as a banner for all archives
                   sent out via the FILEGATE system.

FDNINFO.ZIP        Containing :

FDNINFO.FAQ        Some what out of date.
FGPOL007.TXT       Ditto and if anything more so.
FILEGATE.FAQ       Ditto but a bit better.
FILEGATE.HDR       As in FGATEHDR.ZIP archive.
FILEGATE.ZXX       As in FGATEZXX.ZIP archive.
         The last two hopefully will be kept as up to date as the primary two
         archives

Just a case of setting up the system to process these without bugs :)
