You need to be alert to the signals that other people are sending you, because
if you miss what they are trying to say it could be costly in the long-term.
Keep your eyes and ears open, check their body language and always read
between the lines.

The more you try to cheer up a friend the more determined they are to wallow
in misery. Your best course of action by far is to let them get on with it.
Strange as it may seem they get a kick out of feeling sorry for themselves.
