I saw a thing on the internet, and tried it out. I had some cherry tomatoes that were going bad. I cut them in half and put them in the dirt. I'm guessing that the decomposition of the tomatoes helped fertilize. What I had actually seen was with slices of beefsteak tomato and halves of bell peppers, but figured it was the same.
