yes, it should be able to... nick boel used to use it quite a bit, IIRC... also 
matt bedynek and i think eric renfro as well... i see their posts over on the 
ozzmosis archive site...

this link will drop you into the golded echo back in 2015 Jul 21... i'm not 
sure how far forward (next link on each message) one might have to go to find 
all the desired answers... i read 30 or 40 messages for nostalgia and actually 
remember my participation :)

sbbs doesn't use JAM... it uses SMB, its own format... they are not the same...

there was a problem with getting golded to use the group prefix but i recall 
that DM spent some time after 2015 or so and submitted some patches... i don't 
know if they were ever actually added to the base system or if one needs the 
SMB patches to add it to their self-built golded... DM will know more, i'm 
sure... he may even have a wiki page with details on synchronet with golded...

right now, i just have my sbbs send areas to this point system where i use hpt 
with golded and binkd...
