A cop pulled over a driver who took a while to respond to his lights.

"Sir, I'm on the end of my shift.  If you can give me a good reason why you
took so long to pull over, I'll just let you go."

The man thought for a moment and said:  "Last month, my wife ran off with a
police officer.  For a while, I thought it was you trying to being her back."

The officer responded with "Good evening, sir." and walked off.
