Subj : Re: Good News And Bad New To : George Pope From : Daryl Stout Date : Sat May 01 2021 19:24:00 George, GP> Does your BBS have HTML access? If so, what link, please? Once I get it in the cloud, I'll advise of the new link for it. There is a website interface for it, where you can connect via Telnet. I hope to have all that work done by late next week...but have 3 days of severe weather between now and then to deal with. With the BBS in the cloud, it won't have to go down anymore for thunderstorms, power or internet outages, etc., -- and I could leave it up, if I was to go on vacation (not very likely anymore, with health and financial issues). GP> I'm playing Jeopardized on Synchronet currently & doing pretty well. I worked up a deal with weather and ham radio as the subjects, and did that at a local ham radio event 5 years ago. GP> I love trivia; I'm even pretty good at US History & Geography! (not so GP> much for Canadian, though, as ours wasn't thrown at me every Saturday GP> morning during cartoons in the '70s like Schoolhouse Rock! I have a GP> copy of every Schoolhouse Rock song/episode they ever did Loved those Schoolhouse Rock deals...and GrammarRock. Titles like "Interjection" and "Conjunction Junction" bring back memories. You can still find them on YouTube. GP> Yup, others have moved forward to replace him; I like one guy on GP> YouTube, quite good, & all "clean"; if you're a fan of funny clean look GP> up the Dry Bar channel on YouTube -- all clean, all full shows, all GP> free right now. Darci Lynn Farmer and Todd Oliver are 2 of the ventriloquists, whose shows are entirely G rated. I've never seen Darci in person, but I have seen Todd, and it was a scream. GP> Lazarus came forth & received a toaster as runner-up prize. LOL!! GP> Astro-Zeneca has been suspended harder than the others, all over. . . I got the second Pfizer one over a week ago. Except for some left shoulder and armpit pain (which really stunk! ), I didn't have any bad reaction. The worst part was that at the conference center (in a hospital complex) where they were giving the shots, the workers were apparently taking all the parking spaces, and there were ZERO spaces for disabled folks. I nearly went home without the second shot. > GP> Not sure; his family still has controlling stock & are filthy rich. And, I've heard some say that "if they put all the other stores (including the Mom and Pop places) out of business, you'll pay what they want, or do without". GP> Ick. Mice aren'ty so bad -- thy just fpotrage what'ds eft ot & hady. GP> Rats are destructive 0- thery'll chew wires through; thery'll tunnel GP> through an entire loaf of bread instead of nibbling on one end. Mice are curious and stupid, so they can get caught earlier. Rats are cautious and smart, so they're harder to catch. GP> I love those old game show bloopers; they're mosly all on YouTube; lots GP> of blooper/crazy scenes compilations. The most famous,of course, GP> finally admitted to by the host, was on an old "Newlywed Game"; the GP> question was "Where was the lasrt place you made whoopie?"; she was GP> emnbarassed, bhut here husband, who had his answer face-down, on a GP> card, said, "Go ahead, dear, we want to win the trip(or money); tell GP> the truth." ROFL!! GP> She firmed her resolve, looked Bob right in the eye & said, "that'd be GP> in the butt, Bob!"; pandemonium ensued. . . (husband had 'in the GP> kitchen' on the now useless card) Guess who's in the doghouse tonight??!! GP> I should have typoe 2, my doctor is puxzzled why I'm still only GP> pre-pre- diabetic. I really hope not -- I'd have a hard tiime adjusting GP> my eating habits & chiocs so drastically (I'm easing into it -- I no GP> longer eat 12 yeast doughnuts in a sitting--maybe 2 at most) I've been taking brownies out for dinner...the Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies...that's my "sweet tooth fix". GP> (Homer voice): Mmmmm, donuts.... GP> Q: What do you call a pastry that is a priest? GP> A: A Holey Donut! GP> Q: What do you call a cute donut? GP> A: A-dough-able. GP> Q: Why did the clock in the donut shop run slow? GP> A: It always went back four seconds (me, too) GP> Q: What did the pastry chef say to his unsupportive father? GP> A: “Donut hole me back.” GP> Q: What do you call uncivilized donuts? GP> A: Bavarians. GP> Q: I allow myself only one donut per year. GP> A: This morning I had 433 B.C., 1731AD, and 1952AD. I used to go to a donut place, and order a half dozen chocolate iced donuts, and wash them down with a Diet Doctor Pepper. But, I drink sweet tea when I'm out now, and diet green tea citrus at home. I don't remember the last time I had a soft drink. Daryl .... Drink Canada Dry. It'll take a long time to do so. === MultiMail/Win v0.52 --- SBBSecho 3.14-Win32 * Origin: The Thunderbolt BBS - tbolt.synchro.net (1:19/33) .
