Outie = boy
Innie = girl

Now it's well-encapsulated by this little interaction:

Bill: I hear you just gave birth?
Jill: Yup! 4 hours of labour!
Bill: Is it a boy or a girl?
Jill: How should I know? It's not old enough to tell me yet!
