Doubt it.  I heard that joke 30+ years ago.

But Doug and Bob were about Canada (sort of).  The story is that Canada
required every show to have XX minutes of "Canadian content".  So SCTV came up
with Doug and Bob McKenzie as a response to that.

Sounds like a dad joke about the Michigan towns of Naubinway (knob-in-way) and
Newaygo (new-way-go).
