Yes, but that was never used as a transportmedium for FidoNet messages.
28 years ago I got a CP/M machine with 8 Inch floppy drive and a 5 Meg HDD in 
it, never tried this aparatus. I think I'll bring it to a computer museum.
By the way, 8" did not have a capacity of 1.2 or 1.4 MB?
