Thank you, and thanks to all who replied. Still trying to get the hang of it.
Next, I'll have to figure out where to post to get help regarding my problems
to connect to any BBS with two different modems and two different phone lines
(one POTS, the other VOIP). The remote hosts always close the connection 
right at the login screen.
