Sadly, several people to my south and west in Kentucky are no longer with us. :( Mayfield Kentucky was hit particularly hard. A tornado that may have set the record for the longest path on the ground (over 200 miles) moved through there and hit a candle factory during a workshift. There were 110 people in the building at the time. Approx. 40 have been rescued. The building is completely collapsed and unrecognizeable. At least 10 counties in Kentucky had at least 1 fatality. That same storm caused additional damage across Western and Central Kentucky. It moved through my area, 2-3 miles to my North, at about 2AM local time. It had a tornado warning on it, but apparently did not do much damage. It was eerie, though. Despite being so close, it was very quiet here. Thunder and lighning, but very little wind or rain until after the storm had passed. A separate storm caused at least one tornado near Bowling Green. I have posted some links, and more details, in the WEATHER echo. Mike --- þ SLMR 2.1a * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (1:2320/105) .
