I once was rejected by my former company, a huge ISP, because after explaining the functionality of dynamic addresses in Fidonet I was told I had no clue what I was talking about.
 
I also was rejected for a job at the UN in New York after being named the most suitable applicant because they were only hiring black people from Ghana at that time.
