     Understood.  I think you want a very particular way of working with
     QWK packages.  It seems to me something that would need to be
     developed together with the door and the offline mail reader.

     It is not what you want but here I work with the packages as
     follows:  every 30th of the month I retract the message pointers
     until the 30th of the previous month and download a package of
     messages.  I delete the packages read during the month and keep
     monthly backups of the messages and my replies.  
     It works well for me.
