Do you mean monospaced font?

I have already experimented with this in the direction Fido->Telegram. It turned out not pretty, if you remember.

 AA> The bookended use of * _ and / have been well adopted for:

 AA> Underline = _underline_
 AA> Italic = /italic/

I haven't implemented it yet in the direction Fido->Telegram. For single words this is not difficult, and for large chunks of text there can be false positives.
