Do you have different margins or screen sizes between the two?  Because I'm
not understanding why the wrap would be different otherwise.

No, I mean screensize. I believe most PC BBS type software generall defaults
to 80 X 25. On my phone it's actually more like 70 X 25.  Well probaly more
than 25 honestly, but that appears what it is set to for the programs.

And while only 70 columns are visible, the text still goes 80 columns, so I
have 10 columns that I don't actually see.  Reading messages can be a
challenge, but normally not too difficult. Context can usually fill in what's
missing.  However, I reach a point posting where I am typing blind. Which
with my poor typing skills is a challenge.
