The Environment Variable is likely the path to your config file. In DOS, for example, something like this:

SET FIDOCONFIG=r:\usr\fidoconf\config.cfg

In Linux, I use something like this:

export FIDOCONFIG=/path/to/config/file

Or perhaps you can call htick with the config file stated, as such:

/path/to/htick -c /path/to/config/file toss

You can double-check the options by typing: htick or htick --help

I'm not sure of your understanding and do not intend to be condescending. I am trying to be thorough. The address after the -a is YOUR address, while the other address(es) is(are) uplinks and/or downlinks. This looks right to me.

I hope I am correct is saying you just need to set the environment variable and/or include it in the command line.

In fact, I use htick and hpt for my "Road Node", along with Golded+.
